Chat gpt is an artificial intelligence language model with multi use capabilities in schoolwork and careers

Overview: Chat gpt is basically an AI chat bot developed by openai to generate human like responses based on submitted user questions and prompts. Chat gpt processes a large amount of datasets and code giving it the ability to understand and answer nearly any question and follow and fulfill requests. 

Pros and cons

Chat gpt can be used as a shortcut to write emails, edit papers, and generate texts, summaries and descriptions for simple tasks. Chat can be used to research topics and make suggestions, it can be used for coding as well. Cons include possible wrong answers. Chat will almost always give an answer but it isnt always correct. It cannot process sensitive or confidential information and its knowledge is limited, often reflecting certain biases in answers. A better version also costs $ on a subscription basis

Chat gpt can be used in coursework by structuring project and assignments plans, organizing information, and giving suggestions. College professors and school teachers in general have recently run into a huge problem with students submitting assignments with little to none of their own work because of Chat gpt. The bigger problem is that professors struggle to tell the difference, especially if the said class large. Ironically, instructors are now using AI to detect AI in work so students even go as far to use AI to make AI sound more like a student which is then being checked and graded by AI all because chat gpt has the ability to complete small assignments and papers entirely on its own. My personal use of chat gpt revolves around suggestions and ideas. When I fall short or am missing something in assignments or papers I can simply ask chat gpt for extra ideas. This helps me break plateaus and writers block in most writing assignments. 

Career: My career starting at amazon involves AI to a high degree. Although not chat gpt, amazon uses multiple chat bots to help managers solve problems relating to everything at amazon. Operational procedures, technical terms, data. Amazon operates on such a large scale that it is impossible for a manager to have every answer to a problem or question regarding operations in a 1.5 millions square foot warehouse and supply chain network. Amazon also uses AI in robotics. Billions of dollars have been invested by amazon to make them a front runner in the AI race. After the acquisition of kiva systems in 2012, amazon started to control the warehouse industry by automating its operations. Amazon robotics itself is worth over 30 billion today.

    I agree that Chat GPT has both major benefits and drawbacks for everyone. I have used this application in various different ways for college, and it can be a great tool to help me study or better understand topics. I could definitely see how students could use it in a nonbeneficial way to their education.
